How to Eat Healthy on Vacation

1. Research, research, research! Research your destination thoroughly and know what type of cuisine you will likely be eating. Google things like “vegan+your destination” or “gluten free+your destination” to find restaurants likely to serve more organic foods. Find local grocery stores at your destination that will have organic foods.

2. Pack your own snacks. Trail mix, plantain chips, nut butters, jerky and Lara bars are great options!

3. Have realistic expectations. I know when I go on vacation that not every restaurant I eat at will have grass-fed beef. It’s just a fact and I deal with it. The only thing I 100% stay away from is gluten but if I have a non-organic apple on vacation I’m not going to think twice.
